Obasanjo Should Leave Jonathan Alone.
« on: December 01, 2014, 05:10:15 PM »
I hate very much to be writing this ,but I have to do this to put my mind at ease. For me, I'm very tired of Obasanjo constantly at the throat of Jonathan. If Jonathan is not doing what Obasanjo expected of him as  the ruler of the nation, he should pick up the phone and converse with him in a civilized way .And if he doesn't want to talk directly with him, there are  channels known to him that he can go through. He should stop acting like a comedian in public just to get an opportunity to jab at Jonathan. If ex president Obasanjo wants to see the person who is partly responsible for the failures of Jonathan, he should look in the mirror and the answer will be known to him.
Baba Obasanjo, you were part of the problem, and you are still part of the problem. You had the opportunity to rule Nigeria for 10 years.  Two years as a military dictator and eight as a civilian president. You were not all that good when you were  in office. Your records are there for historians to judge. You had a hand in the imposition of Jonathan on the nation. Someone else was supposed to be Yar'adua 's running mate, but you went against it. At this time of your age, you should please, mellow and enjoy your retirement and your millions.
I know many things may have been the cause of your invisible ring fight with Jonathan, one of which is his determination to run for second term. Sincerely, the whole world believed you when you said Jonathan made a promise to you  not run for second term. You were telling the truth. But Baba, you are not on a high moral ground yourself. After your second term ended, you were planning to run for the third term, before the whole Nigeria went against you. So, by any definition of the term democrat, you are not a democrat and neither is your buddy turned opposition Jonathan.
I'm not in any way defending Jonathan, he is a very weak president not capable of ruling Nigeria. His achievements are more of fairy tails than real. And I don't like his record on Boko Haram. He is not doing enough to bring about security in the nation. And the way he misuses the mighty power of the security against opposition is nothing democratic. To be honest with you, I hope he never wins re-election. I have a lot to say,but better things to do.
